Hi Everyone,

Welcome back for the 2009 season! We are all looking forward to the upcoming season. 2009 will be a voting year for election for a new BOD’s for 2010-2011. Please start to think about maybe running for office.

Last year was very good. Most of you that attended the banquet already know about the awards and the individuals that worked the Bronco WS, the Palomino WS, and the various Zone tournaments. The BOD's voted to give bonus awards to all those umpires who worked 50 or more games in 2008 and these were handed out at the banquet. Seven members qualified for $50, $75, or $100, depending on the number of games done. (Members of the BOD are never eligible for this extra money). Hopefully, we can continue this bonus in 2009.

A few people unfortunately, abused the open bar at the banquet. IF we have an open bar next year, there will be limitations on the types of drinks paid for by the SCVFU. As always, the money to each guest/wife/date was a big hit! And the food was outstanding!!

The umpire clinic was shortened due to the weather. Hopefully, 2009 will see a full clinic on Jan. 23 and Jan. 24 at Pioneer HS. Attendance at the first meeting on March 18, 2009 is mandatory. There are a lot of changes happening and a lot of new information to be disseminated.
